I have surveied 300 patients hospitalized at 3 General hospitals located in Taegu during July 1, to July 30th 1987. for studying relative factors between disease and it’s causing matter among urban residents. The average age of patient was 42.2 years old. The male patients were 60.33% and married one’s 72.67%. Most of them were high school graduates and 41.33% of them did not have any religion. Classifying disease, the highest rate was injuries and intoxication, digestive disease was 19.33% and tumor was 14%. The highest duration of hospitalization was up to 5 weeks, 60.33% of them were covered by health insurance policy. When they needed to check their heath problem, 41.67% of them went to a pharmacy and they seldom when to public health clinic or oriental clinics. Though their interest and importance of health and epidemic disease were considerably high, their daily care of health and personal hygiene were relatively low. Considering the result mentioned above, types of disease are closely related to rapidly changing of the structure in industrial society. Actually once they get sick, they try to take care of them properly, but since they have little interest in prevention of disease. So, I think it is necessary to reinforce the health education and to enlight the public health.
